Club History

Wroughton Folk Dance Club's inaugural meeting was on August Bank Holiday in 1986 when it was decided to hold regular folk dance meetings in Wroughton Infants' School, starting in September.

The club prospered, some visitors staying, some going but settling around a good number of founder members – a few of whom are still with us at our weekly meetings.

We have already celebrated our 5th, 10th, 15th, 20t, 25th & 30th Anniversaries.

For the 25th Anniversary we held a Celebration Dance in October 2011, Ron Coxall called to music from Pendragon and over 100 dancers from as far away as Wolverhampton and West Sussex enjoyed a superb evening.

For the 30th Anniversary in 2016 some 75 people attended to to hear Rhodri Davies accompanied by Paul Hutchinson and Fiona Barrow.
